Whilst co-managing a financially successful plumbing business for 8 years, Jo Hobbs witnessed her husband gradually fall victim to a full burnout. An outsider looking in would think they had it all; making good profits, nice car, nice boat, kids doing well in private education.... But the truth was Jo's husband wasn't doing well at all. He was on a wheel he felt he couldn't get off. Work life balance was non-existent, stress was uncontrollable, he wasn't sleeping, he started having negative thoughts and was becoming more detached emotionally. Eventually he crashed, and the crash was hard having suffered from a full burnout.
Upon reflection, Jo recognised that her own life wasn't too flash either. Engulfed by work and family obligations, she had lost touch with what once brought her joy and meaning. So much so, that when a young apprentice enquired about her favourite music, she was at a loss for an answer. Jo was on the brink of burnout herself.
Some big changes followed. One significant life change was Jo's decision to return to studying. She dedicated herself to understanding burnout, workplace stress, and crucially, how to prevent it. As The Reset Coach, Jo now provides two-day residential courses and a condensed one-day in-house training package aimed at addressing work-related stress, enhancing self-care, and promoting balance in our lives.
Drawing on her previous career as a Captain in the British Army and her experiences running a trade business, Jo delivers a compassionate and intuitive coaching style with a strong emphasis on achieving results.
